Uri, Feb 18: In the serene village of Uri, nestled amidst majestic mountains and serving as the last border of India, a significant transformation has occurred, turning Uri into a captivating tourist destination. Visitors from Pune, among others, have been enchanted by Uri’s charm.
While speaking with the media, Pune tourists expressed their joy, emphasizing the historical significance of Kaman Post and the allure of the India Selfie Point in Uri.
Samruddhi Bakare extended heartfelt gratitude to the Uri administration for their unwavering support and guidance, with special thanks to the Indian Army for ensuring a seamless and enjoyable visit.
“Uri is the most beautiful place in Kashmir, and during my inaugural visit, I have marveled at the diverse attractions, including Kaman Post, India Selfie Point, Power Projects, and more. I earnestly urge fellow tourists to come and witness the authentic beauty of Kashmir,” she added.
Dnyaneshwar, leading the Pune group, noted the significant changes since his 2018 visit, stating, “Uri has transformed into a tourist destination, with its beautiful views captivating us.”
During interactions with key officials such as SDM Uri and Brigadier Kuldeep Singh, the tourists gained insights into Uri’s attractions. The collective efforts of the community, administration, and the Indian Army were lauded for Uri’s evolution into a thriving tourist hub.
However, Dnyaneshwar suggested that, “local people of Uri sector must take an initiative of Home Stay. It will be beneficial for both tourists and locals to earn some money and Indian Army is always ahead to support all such activities.”
