Baramulla Police Nabs Drug Peddler in Baramulla; Significant Contraband Seized
In a major operation on Tuesday, Jammu & Kashmir Police reported the arrest of a drug peddler in Baramulla.
The suspect, identified as Syed Asif Hussain, was apprehended at a checkpoint in Kralhar Baramulla by a police team led by SHO PS Baramulla.
During the search, authorities recovered approximately 1.5 kilograms of a Poppy Straw-like substance from Hussain’s possession.
Hussain, son of Syed Sabir Hussain and resident of Kamalkote Uri, has been taken into custody and transferred to PS Baramulla.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered, and an investigation is underway, according to a statement from the police.
The police spokesperson issued a statement to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), urging the public to report any instances of drug peddling or other crimes.
The community is encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement by contacting the nearest police establishment or dialing 112.
Police reassured the public of their commitment to taking firm action against criminals in accordance with the law.
