Srinagar 30 Jan : IPS officer Sandeep Gupta on Tuesday assumed charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal.
A statement issued to the news agency said that the incumbent officer was warmly received by senior police officers of the district and was accorded Guard of honour at District Police Headquarters Ganderbal.
“The outgoing SSP Nikhil Borkar handed over the baton to the incumbent officer in a brief but impressive function,” reads the statement.
After assuming the charge, the incumbent officer held an introductory meeting with Police officers of the district and impressed upon officers to work with dedication and enthusiasm to mitigate problems faced by the people of Ganderbal.

He stressed the need for team work and has directed officers to have their doors open always for the general public, it added.
